Floyd really wished he never talked trash about PAC cuz he went n did the same thing. IMO it's even worse cuz he is a champion at that weight.

Pacquiao actually gets praise for his catchweight fights and he's on his 3rd fight in a row where he brings a guy up in weight to fight him. JMM, Bradley, and now Rios. If Pac.wants to fight 140 guys why dont he go to 140?

I ask you what advantage does 152 give Floyd over Saul Alvarez? Do you believe Floyd has any kind of weight advantage in this fight?

All this talk about how weak Alvarez will be going up against a Welterweight??!! Even if he is weak what does he have to fear from a light punching welter?? Is Floyd a KO artist..a mini Mike Tyson or something?

Understand we are talking about a Super Middleweight against a Welter on fight night and people are worried about the Super Middle!! Can somebody explain why there is seemingly no concern for Floyd being the much much smaller lighter hitting man? Is it ok for him to be outweighed 20 lbs? Its not ok for other fighters to be outweighed by 20 is it?

It appears that Floyd has to fight with handicaps (weight, size disadvantage, you name it) literally give his opponent a head start for some people to feel its a fair fight. But at the same time those same people want to say he's not an ATG.
Floyd has always weighed more than 150, when ever he has fought at LMW, on fight night.

Floyd was 150/151 at the weigh in against Oscar/Cotto. Overnight, he puts on weight as effectively as anyone in the sport. He probably weighed, at the very least 155 on fight night, so that debunks a lot of your "concerns" for your man Floyd. It's not like Manny weighing barely 150 on fight night against Margy who weighed almost 170lb.

Second point, the reason people may be concerned (I'm not, I just dislike the hypocrisy) is because it takes a lot out of a fighter to have to make weight, even someone like Floyd but Floyd is comfortable making 150 24 hours before fight time. He is naturally closer to 147. Naturally, Canelo weighs over 170 and just to make weight, already has to cut, at the very least, 16lbs, that's a hell of a lot, now he has to cut that extra 2 lbs, that might not sound like a lot but for anyone who has ever tried making weight, knows that even cutting an extra pound can be a nightmare.

Third point, again, for anyone who has rehydrated, knows that rehydrating does not mean adding muscle or effective fat, it simply means adding water to the system, this has been put in place by the boxing authorities to improve cellular functions within the body and to provide the necessary fluid to the brain. Some research, carried out decades earlier showed that cutting weight right up to hours before a fight, in some cases barely 1 or 2 hours before fight time, was detrimental to the health of fighters, hence the inclusion of "day before" weight ins.

Canelo may well weight in at 170lb on fight night but that will not be effective weight, meaning muscle, it will be water and other liquids. That in noway negates the extra miles in training to lose an extra 2lbs. Canelo will be worse off at 152 than at 154, that's a fact. Floyd knows this, he is an athleet who has spent almost 2 decades in the pro side of things, he knows how making weight works. Floyd wants him, what people in the sport call, drained, it's the same with Dawson/Ward, Leonard/Lalonde and Pacquiao/Cotto.

But this is probably the worst instance, considering Ward was fighting a lhw willing to move down in weight and that Pac is a very small welter. Floyd is a legitimate champion at 154 and he is fighting to unify titles, I don't think I've ever heard of a title unification, between two legit champions, being fought at a catchweight, when one champion has already fought at the weight and didn't need a catchweight before. This in unprecedented in the sport.
