BoxingScene.com has been advised that a heavyweight shootout is being seriously discussed for the HBO televised co-feature to Gennady Golovkin vs. Curtis Stevens, which takes place on November 2 at The Theather in New York's Madison Square Garden. Talks are ongoing to finalize a fight between unbeatens Magomed Abdusalamov (18-0, 18KOs) and Mike Perez (19-0, 12KOs).

Sources with knowledge of the details have told BoxingScene that Magomed's team received an offer for the fight, which Magomed accepted, and now both fighters are waiting for the contracts.

EXCELLENT news. What a great fight! Not only has Magomed been needing a step up, but this is a perfect one. Another undefeated HW, and if I'm not mistaken, I believe Mike Perez is signed with K2? I saw his last fight against Travis Walker and I was impressed, I thought he looked good.

Good to see since neither brings much to the table & both of them need to move faster. I haven't seen too much of mike perez so i can't say how good he is. Magomed is slow but has solid power. He dropped mccline with a jab. These are the fights we need.
