I honestly have converted from a hater of danny to a big fan (even of Angel). I didn't like that he seemed protected and was the ring champ, but he doesn't really determine his career path; Haymon does. He has fought who they put in front of him and has won everytime. I am glad he took the challenge from the public (and his fans) to fight Matthysse. I think it is too early in his career to fight Matthysee, but he's the champ at the division and wants to unify titles.

I respect Angel as well; I think he's a great father who truly loves his son. He knows the fight game well; he's become a master of promotion and controversy. He shields his son in more ways than one. The only problem is that he may not be able to shield him from Matthysse's power. However, the payday he receives should be fair compensation. He might even win.

Can't wait for this fight....

I see Matthysse is dangerous but I also think Danny brings something to the table that perhaps a Peterson could not. What that something is...besides pop durability and timing? Can't put my finger on it...But I have no problem seeing Garcia win this fight.

Just hope Lucas is not like his brother Walter...Crazy KO record and then...Cintron and Williams took him out of the picture completely.

agreed i used to think this fight would be easy work for matthysse..but after rewatching their previous fights i actually think this fight could go either way...i wouldn't be surprised if danny caught matthysse with something big either. danny's dad is just annoying as hell.....

I don't think so. Both looking in tremendous shape already - it's not just that they both know they're in for a extremely tough fight, it's that a win for either leads them to the pot of gold that is the Mayweather fight.

That's another reason why the fight is going to be so great - the stakes are so high.

I don't think so. Both looking in tremendous shape already - it's not just that they both know they're in for a extremely tough fight, it's that a win for either leads them to the pot of gold that is the Mayweather fight.

That's another reason why the fight is going to be so great - the stakes are so high.

Although, for the record, two guys going for broke could make for a very early night - whether they're not far apart in skill or they are. But yeah, I expect Danny to be at his best, because a Mayweather payday is probably at stake.

By the way, Mayweather vs Matthysse is much more interesting than Mayweather vs Garcia regardless of who wins Garcia/Matthysse. I don't think either guy beats Mayweather, but stylistically Danny would be a sitting duck. Lucas could at least make it interesting, if not only because of the spooky power always there to suddenly turn things around.

I like both fighters, but the Garcias need to be taken down a peg, and in all likelihood they will.
