But it was definitely a close fight that could have went either way. The only thing Canelo proved is that he can't clearly beat elite opposition.
If you had it a draw lol you are either black or blinf,Canelo whooped Trout and i seen Cotto beat mayweathers ass and it was an old washed up Cotto who beat Mayweather i had cotto winning 7 rounds he clearly beat Mayweather as for Oscar got robbed vs Mayweather,Mayweather is feather fisted boring ass fighter, when Canelo knocks him out ill come back here .... save this ..,,ill be back sept 14,,,mayweather is another small fighter Canelo will walk through ..Cotto gave Maywether an ass whooping bloody nose haha fuunnny

Canelo should have fought Cotto before fighting Floyd. He didn't look all that impressive against Trout.

I've thought a lot about this fight and considered Canelo's youth, explosiveness, body punching, size, and the fact that he's fought in big crowds before, and I've pretty much settled into the prediction that this Mayweather's most dramatic fight in a long while; rougher than the Cotto fight, close as or closer than the De la Hoya fight, with an excited crowd as the Mayweather-Hatton fight.

The fact that Canelo is a very promising fighter to carry the sport in the next years, that he's undefeated, and has a huge Hispanic fanbase suggest that he'll get more than a fair shake from the judges in close rounds, and that provides a real danger when you consider that Mayweather does like to take the first three or four rounds off to study his opponent (not always but usually). Mayweather looked great against Guerrero, but that's not surprising as I never really considered him a real threat to begin with (at least against someone like Floyd). When you look at Floyd's last two fights (excluding Guerrero), he's languished on the ropes, and though he's known for shoulder rolling and executes his defense very well, he still exposes himself to great danger (against fighters that are known to be power punchers in Ortiz/Cotto). Álvarez, in my estimation, is much heavier, and much more explosive, than the two aforementioned fighters.

I think this is truly going to be a tightly contested fight where Canelo pushes Floyd harder. Call me crazy--and I'm hoping Floyd schools him--but I firmly believe that this fight is going to a majority decision. I feel very sure about that.

Leave me a PM if anyone wants to bet.

Clearly, the concesus in Boxing is that the majority of fans see Canelo as the biggest threat to Floyd in many years. But if I were Floyd, I would have put Canelo on a limit on what he can enter the ring at, rather than a 152 limit. I think this fight will turn out better than some expect.

If he lays on the ropes again it won't be because he let Canelo get some in. Floyd is too cautious, especially with this being quite possibly the strongest guy he's faced yet. Cotto is an intelligent pressure fighter who forced Mayweather to fight in the trenches during the middle rounds. I don't believe Canelo is bringing a single gas tank to this fight and he knows it, the kid is preparing to go hard all 12.

Correction, a 6'1 puncher. Floyd is half the size of Trout. And I don't think Trout gave him hell, I actually thought that Canelo was having an easy time. Perhaps not offensive enough but he displayed his defense, which was even more impressive.
