That's awesome to hear. I think the sparring will benefit each fighter tremendously. That being said, all Matthysse is going to prepare Bradley for is pressure and power. He'll really need to spar against a great counter-puncher to truly prepare for Marquez. I'm sure he knows that though.

I'm a fan of Bradley (despite the hate because of the Manny fight). He is all heart and determination. Has an enormous chip on his shoulder, and the fight against Provodnikov really won me over. I though that fight very well could've been a draw, but decision aside, Bradley was literally knocked out on his feet several times, and just continued to take punishment and throw BOMBS! Dude showed so much heart.. This fight against Marquez is really going to be a fight for the fans.

A lot of people seem to feel that stylistically neither Matthysse nor Bradley have anything to offer the other in preparation for their matches against Garcia and Marquez, but one thing they both have is an elite level of skill and experience in the sport. When two great artists collaborate they both gain something from the experience.

Matthysse may not be known for his counter-punching but he's underrated as a boxer. He has good technical skills and, like Marquez, he knows how to throw a powerful and well-timed shot.

Bradley's a jack-of-all-trades fighter who does a number of things exceptionally well. His footwork is superb when he puts it into action, just watch the Peterson fight and you will see what Bradley can do even in a small ring.

As long as neither man comes out of the sparring with injuries, I'm sure they will both benefit greatly from this. It is rare that two fighters on the cusp of the elite get to work together, especially ahead of pivotal matches that may define their careers for years to come.

I have a ton of respect for these two fighters. They really put everything on the line when they fight. They're warriors. I think this sparring shows their respect for eachother and their opponents. JMM & DG are not to be taken lightly and both fighters recognize that.

              Can't wait for these fights...

Funny How We Read "I Hung In There, He Has All That Power, In Both Hands"... LOL

This is the WELTERWEIGHT talking about the smaller Junior Welterweight... the convo sounded like he stepped up in weight to spar with Andre Ward... Bradley, his camp, they were all concerned with sparring with the Junior Welterweight... I got news for you. Bradley wasn't dazed because they wear oversized headgear... over sized gloves... take the headgear off and put on your game-time gloves, and then you have a whole nutha animal in Lucas Matthysse. They were all very concerned with Matthysse which tells youall you need to know. Bradley is completely wrong about who Marquez is, which is total opposite of Matthysse. Lucas will storm after you, bomb you out with either hand... Marquez will sit back and counter punch. That's why Bradley/Marquez will be a very boring fight. Bradley is going to wait on Marquez coming after him like Matthysse, and Marquez will wait to counter Bradley.

People talk about Matthysse like he is the boogie man, he does have a KO rating of like 98% or something afterall. Bradley also said that he wasn't even fazed, not buzzed at all. You make it sound as if he was saying he barely survived....very selective use of his commentary. '

Bradley will jab Marquez heavily in this fight and use lateral movement to prevent Marquez from planting his feet. After a few rounds of heavy body punches, Marquez will slow down and fall way behind on the cards.

Matthysse does not throw bombs when he is sparring...he works in other aspects of his game....defense, countering, movement......he knows he's got power...no need to use it during sparring sessions..
