Yeah. I always got the feeling that Shumenov was simply fighting in order to build his promotional company. There no doubt has to be something shady going on for him to keep his title this long, including the initial corrupt decision to get it. Don King was probably doing the same thing with the WBA with G.Jones. Slipping them some donation to keep the belt.

At least Jones is Panamanian, which always gets you far with the WBA, though not that far without King helping out.

Dudes, check it out. His #1 contender in the WBA rankings ever since he won the title is some Gayrat Ahmedov. That's 3.5 years of #1 ranking. Anybody know Gayrat, who should I ask? Now it just so happens this guy is promoted by Shumenov's promo company.

I haven't seen the press release from TR but I hope this is true. I was fortunate enough to see his last two fights in person against Santiago and Ornelas. He's awesome to watch. Really active. Too bad it's not in Vegas would love to see him live again.
