Comments Thread For: David Price Parts Ways With Trainer Franny Smith

David Price has announced he has parted company with long-time trainer Franny Smith.

Changes to Price's team had been expected following back-to-back defeats to Tony Thompson this year, setting back the Liverpool heavyweight's career.

The 30-year-old remains British and Commonwealth champion and has vowed to continue his quest to reach the top of the tree, but will do so without Smith.

"Franny will always be more than just a trainer to me, I consider him as a very close friend so making this decision was extremely hard, he did a fantastic job making me the first Liverpudlian British & Commonwealth heavyweight champion," Price said. [Click Here To Read More]

I was hoping lewis was going to stick with him and try to sort him out. I wonder if lewis dumped him?

The trouble is David, your chin parts ways with you after the lightest tap to it.

yea,,its such a damn shame his chin is so bad becuz hes a likeable guy and can crack. I like power punchers. im goin to hope he turns it around but hes probably not going to get anywhere. his confidence seemed shattered in that thompson rematch

It's not necessarily a blame thing. He's lost twice to the same guy, so something has to change. Maybe he just feels that a different trainer can help him make more changes.
