I knew instantly after seeing his "rock em sock em" robot affair with Ponce Deleon, he was in desperate need of these skills. Things will not change for him until he better masters his craft. Yes, I'm well aware of his success and accomplishments but he has serious defensive vulnerabilities, not to mention he has a habit of throwing wide, looping punches.

I like Mares, he has good potential, but a regime change is mandatory.
He should of never left Beristan enough said

      It's worse.
Nacho Beristain is Gonzalez' trainer now -- and people still wonder why Mares was caught that fast.

Being the style of fighter that he is this defeat may prove more devastating than the norm. His confidence had to have taken a major major hit. Hope he can recover strong.

doubt the return happens as I believe by mid-next year Jhonny's @ 130...Mares can still be supreme @ FW...w/the arena only a few hundred fans short of SO, curious what the two guys made. w/Mares getting the 75% cut...any 1 know???

In round numbers, and Not exact, Mares got about $925K and Gonzales about $100K. Just from memory off the top of my head. I think I read it on one of Fat Dan Rafael's(espn) tweets.
