Damn, really bummed my boy Mares lost this bad

Damn this is worse than Donaire getting schooled by Rigo.

Props to Gonzalez, I knew this kid was dangerous and had a good shot to beat Mares and made a thread about it.

I still thought Mares would pull it off but he couldnt come fight night.

I really cant see how Mares can beat Gonzalez though, its just a style nightmare for him, just all wrong for Mares.

Wonder if he will exercise the rematch clause, hope not I just dont see how Mares can beat Gonzalez.

Donaire fans loving this right now lol

Man now I know how the Pacquiao fans felt after Marquez put Pac out.

Last time I felt this bad was when my boy Margarito got destroyed by Mosley, man that one felt horrible lol

Margarito was on the cusp if not already the next JCC in terms of fame and then boom, **** got real.

I was just starting to slightly warm up to the guy. Oh well, I liked what he had to say in postfight interview and hope to see him back.

I still have faith in him though, I fux with Mares till the end,

Gonzalez may have his number but I still think he has a shot against Donaire and Rigo.

Against Mikey though I think he gets KO'ed because Mikey knows how to box and keep the shorter fighter at the end of his jab plus he hits pretty hard, same problem Mares had against Gonzalez.

Like what Mares put on his twitter:

"Hoy sufrimos un tropiezo, pero al levantarnos y vencer las dificultades es cuando realmente demostramos quienes somos"

He is just saying that this is a bump in the road but we have to get back up to defeat the difficulties that appear and that is the time when we will show who we really are.

Dont lose faith in Mares, yes this felt like **** lol but for all the boxing fans that barely started to like Mares still support him, dude is a throwback.

        WAR MARES!!!

It's hard for a fighter to come back after losing in such a way.

I believe his days in the elite are over, he'll always have it in the back of his head that he can be KOd so easily!

Hmm.. Interesting to see how many people think his elite days are behind him now. One loss doesn't define a career, and sure it was a good stoppage but it wasn't a career ending knock out. Truth of the matter is he was still aware of his surroundings and he in fact wanted to continue. Now, if he was asleep for a few seconds or even minutes, it would be a completely different story. The important thing is that he knows he got caught, he said it and now he will hopefully improve his defense. Jhonny has always been one of the best boxer punchers, but now that he is with Nacho, his craft is now too good. I am willing to bet that if that left hook landed on Donaire, Rigo or Mikey, they wouldnt have gotten up. People claim Mares has a glass jaw but fail to realize how powerful Jhonny really is.

This is exactly how I described it.

Mares will be fine. He found some limitations, it will be good for him.

Went a weightclass up too far for his chin. But there's the money and his body is growing.
He should train his neck even more now.
Following his career for 10 fights now, always entertaining
