Golovkin is understandable since they wanted it in the U.S... odn't remember them asking them to go overseas.
Quillen... still need to hear the full story there.

We're only getting one side of the story so it's useless to try to decide whose promoter ****ed up, who is lying, etc. I'm just disappointed for Murray because that would have been a great opportunity for him, he should be the lineal middleweight champ.

Well Barker is the current IBF Champion and Murray is the true lineal champion so it would be the world's best fight fighting the world's best. It's a far more lucrative option for both men over Peter Quillin

I agree with you to that Murray would provide a decent test for Golovkin as he is bigger and stronger than the other two. But he'd still be a heavy underdog.

From my point of view I'd love to go to any of the match ups between the top British middles - they'd be great events.
Agreed, Barker v Murray would be huge, we've already had a big year in boxing, this would be another big fight. But it doesn't look like it will happen any time soon.

Nothing beats British domestic dust-ups. Let us have this belt until they all fight each other. I realise that could be until the end of their careers but these are awesome fights, lol. It is only one of the straps!

Not sure how interested any British fans are about having Golovkin squash them all one by one.
Barker/Sturm/Murray/Geale...fine. Saunders/Ryder getting a world title shot? Meh. I can accept the plan if Murray and Geale don't sit around and wait for Barker. If Saunders/Ryder beat Murray, then give them a shot.

Pretty sure Barker is tied into a Sturm fight then a Geale fight (rematch clause).

Is it customary for a titlist to get a rematch if he loses to a mandatory?

"If the fight is to be made, though, the United Kingdom is a possibility, as K2 promoter Tom Loeffler says that Team Golovkin would be willing to fight Murray on the road.
"Martin Murray is one of the top middleweights in the world. The performance he had against Sergio Martinez has proven that and if it's a fight that can't be made here in the States, it could be interesting to see if it's something that we could do in the UK. Macklin, Barker, Murray, Andy Lee, there are a lot of great fighters over in the UK and we would be excited to build Gennady's name a lot more over there."

From the looks of it, Hatton does not want Murray facing either of them.

No, but apparently it's in the contract.

GGG team proposed it, but HBO was not onboard I guess.
