The knockdowns in these two fights are completely different, you can clearly see that Mares was hurt in the first knockdown and struggled to regain his balance and the same in his second knockdown so it was a good and fair stoppage. There really isn't much to discuss.

Mares was way worse off than Marquez. Still, Marquez was fortunate to have a ref who did let him continue on. Most refs wouldn't have given him that chance I don't think.
