Garcia and Rigo have never been in the same division, why link them together? Garcia should be concerned with Uchiyama, Miura, Mendez, Cherry, Burgos, Thompson, etc.

And I HATE this idea that every fighter has to constantly weight jump. Hagler never moved up do we fault him for that? You SHOULD fight in the weight class that best suites you unless you grow out of the division. Not everyone has to be Pacquiao or Armstrong.

And beating Gonzalez isn't chasing greatness as a win wouldn't have meant much for Mares career or legacy wise.
The bold is an undeniable statement, and the underlined portion is the most sensible reason a fighter should consider moving up. Sure, there are times a fighter will take chances and move up for monetary gain, but why take risks if there's no compelling reason to? What big money fight awaits Rigo if he takes a chance and moves up to 126? Guille's better off asking people to come down to his weight, where he isn't making unnecessary concessions.

Mikey comes from the Robert Garcia school of weight draining big guys into small divisions.

He cheated Juanma on the scales (not that it would have mattered, but still) and will likely stay at 126 though he's a big dude.

who's at 126? Rigo is fighting at his natural weight, if he wants he can go down to 118 or even 115 if he wants

That's weird cause they're trying to get with the 130lb champion.
