Anyone notice how rigo wants to do a b hop and stay 122 and keep it under lockdown in a very weak division, instead of these other guys chasing greatness

God you again.... "Mares too small for 122 " Mares is 5'5, RIgo is 1 full inch shorter this = " OMG that ducking b*tch what a pussy foh kill yoself. Every time you mention Rigo your statements get ******er. Aint Rigo's fault as soon as he started cleaning the division from the top down the roaches scattered up from his weight and i doubt the roaches want any piece of him now. /thread -

What? Donaire hasn't moved up, so he's still there. Santa Cruz is a player now. Mares can move back down and probably should.
The only thing stopping those fights is one guy getting schooled and the promotional feud. Nothing to do with Rigo "pulling a B-hop."Comment

Rigo's a tiny guy who walks around only a couple of pounds heavier than his fighting weight. How many boxers at the lower weights can you say that about? Most guys drain themselves down to 122. Donaire came in at over 140in his fight with Guillermo. Garcia missed weight for his last bout at 126 and is moving up to 130. Mares now fights at 126. All these guys always drained down to a lower weight. Rigo is essentially fighting at the highest weight he's capable of without overly compromising his performance.Comment

Rigo could probably fight at 115 if he really wanted to.
And I HATE this idea that every fighter has to constantly weight jump. Hagler never moved up do we fault him for that? You SHOULD fight in the weight class that best suites you unless you grow out of the division. Not everyone has to be Pacquiao or Armstrong.
And beating Gonzalez isn't chasing greatness as a win wouldn't have meant much for Mares career or legacy wise.Comment
