Brilliant, then Vitali who has only ever held one of the belts was/is not HW champion. Larry Holmes only ever held one version of the title when there were 3 titlists, he must not have been a HW champion.

Absolutely. Thompson on the other hand had momentum from the two Price fights and plenty on this board thought he could beat Pulev. Thompson is also a better fighter than Ruiz, btw.

Not really that clear cut is it. Ruiz resume is far far better than Thompson, and Ruiz resume isn't that great his biggest wins are an past prime Holyfield, Tony Tucker, McCline, Golata and Rahman.

Thompsons notable names are Price, Kraniqi and Chazz Witherspoon.

The fighter makes the belt not the other way around. British media and some posters like to skew there words in order to make someone look better than they are. Ruiz former 2 time world HW champion sounds better than reality. Former 2 time WBA titlist!!!!
