steve smoger, where the **** were you tonight!
steve smoger stopped Peterson after stumbling to the canvas for a second KD against Matthysse. Lucas didn't even land flush when Peterson fell down.

can't we just accept that the refs know what the **** they're doing, and fans will always cry and ***** when a fight is either stopped too soon, or too late.

Mares wins in a rematch and beats Rigo and the other gusanos.
... Oscar hyped him and he believed it...

I agree that shit happens, but when it happens in the form of a clean hook in the chin that sends you down in the very first round, you should (at least) clinch and hold your way out for the bell. This in case you're not totally confused by the initial punch.

That's BS and you know, do you think professional fighters constantly scroll through boxing forums looking for reviews? LOL come on man

The real problem is that many modern coaches are not conditioning their fighters to hold on during training, having said that this is the first time Mares has ever been stopped and he has never been in this sort of physical peril before, he just got excited, Mares is experienced enough to know when to hold. And this sin't the first time or a modern phenomena, did you see Hearns holding against Hagler? Or Kevin Kelly against the Prince? Some times, when you have a big puncher against you, holding is out of the question.

I don't think you understand what triangle theories are. A triangle theory would suggest that Mares would've beaten Gonzalez since he just beat someone (Ponce) who previously beat Gonzalez. These theories don't always work out because 'styles make fights.'

Just because fighter A beat fighter B who beat fighter C, doesn't mean that fighter A will beat fighter C. This time, that theory didn't quite work out because Mares just lost to someone who lost to another fighter he recently beat. It's exactly what didn't happen, and all within the course of a year.

Wow. That was crazy. Cong**** to Gonzalez for the huge win, that left hook was a Donaire special.

Mares should move back down to 122. He bit off more than he can chew at featherweight.

                  I am in shock!

But not as bad as Golden Boy and Showtime are. They lost a major player last night.

true, i know it lacks in training now but also these fighters know what the networks and casual fans thrive on and its excitment so sometimes they do more than they should to show courage. i know its easier said than done im not the one in there taking shots but if i was a fighter one of the first things i woudl want to work on in the gym is defense and for sure what to do when in trouble, when bey was hurt from molina he had enough energy and thought to duck and avoid punches but he made no attemts to hold, he should of grabbed the ***** outta his ass lol
