I had it 116-112 pulev. Thompson cracks me up because he plays possum quite often in his fights. Plods around looking gassed then fires a counter. His corner man said i know what your doing, etc. he was setting traps but just doesn't have the power to really back pulev off. I was delighted to see randy neuman as the ref. no nonsense ref & he doesn't allow holding. Pulev held tony's head & hit him. Neuman warned him about it a couple times but realized he didn't speak english so he stopped it, wagged his finger & held the back of his head. Pulev never did it again. Pulev took a few rounds to shake of the rust but by the 4th round he put the pedal down. Loved the left hook lead to set up the right. I worry about his power. He may not have the big punch needed to dominate fighters. I'd love to see arreola in the ring with pulev. Pulev earned his shot by winning 3 eliminators. I look forward to pulev getting his shot but i don't see him beating klitschko. He has a nice jab & arsenal of punches but wlad is leagues ahead of thompson, ustinov & dimitrenko...

Thompson winning would have been surprising and horrible news. Pulev probably won't beat Wlad, but he's a good fighter, he has earned his shot unlike most of Wlad's recent challengers and will make for a good name on Wlad's record. Looking forward to it.

If only Pulev had more punching power! And hes easy to hit by tall guys. He will get hit by Wlads jab all day, even Thompson was able to do that. But the old man only had stamina for a few rounds. Thompson at this stage of his career is only dangerous in the first 6 rounds. Pulev didnt looked verry good in these first 6 rounds and Thompsin tagged him with some nice punches. At least Pulev can take a punch.

Solid performance by Kubrat. Took him the first couple rounds to figure out Thompson's southpaw style, but he loosened up after round three and upped the pace as he started getting into his own rhythm. Thompson was gassed after round 7 and I felt Pulev should have knocked him out during the final rounds when Thompson more or less gave up fighting. Pulev had him in trouble against the ropes several times. But all in all a convincing victory for the Bulgarian, and a good 12 rounds against a veteran as well. Pulev showed he has a good engine and can keep the pace and box intelligently with fast hands for 12 rounds.

Pulev had the tiger shook a couple times though, I think he does have some power, and he is a real heavyweight. He's a BOXER too. Not sure what kind of trouble he can present Wladimir, but it's sure as hell going to be better to watch than Wlad-Thompson III. And a good fight for Wlad's resume.

Hard to say if he hurt him because in the 9th thompson switched to the orthodox stance & pulev immediately landed his best & hardest 1 2 of the fight. That was by far the biggest punch landed by either fighter & thompson barely flinched...still good win but if he had the eraser right hand he could be deadly. Thompson did what he could but he's 41 & didn't have the power to keep pulev subdued. Thompson is much better then he gets credit for. It's pulev's best win to date. Thompson had the same issues pulev did to some degree. Guys have never lined up to fight thompson earlier in his career. It still baffles me why mahoney considered thompson the "right" fight for his 15 fight protege...
