I realize Popkins is getting old but does he relize that this isn't the 1920's of his youth and that we have more to go on than just newspaper reports? Trying to compare Kovalev to flatfooted guys like Pavlik or Cloud is silly.

One thing that makes Kovalev so interesting is he is not that and unlike most punchers can deliver power punches in combination without having to sit down on his shots. He's very mobile and light on his feet

Yeah I don't think Hopkins watched a lot of Kovalev fights or else he wouldn't say that. Not only is he not flat footed but he would be the most mobile and busiest opponent Hopkins has faced since Calzaghe.
