B'Hops already a legend and and an ATG, but I don't think Kovalev would be good for him now. That he's still fighting and winning at 48 - and I think he probably will take Murat - is testament enough, but he can't keep father time at bay forever.

The clear signs are that Kovalevs gonna be fighting with HBO where there are more fights to be made at 175 anyway, so, as much as it's a fight I would like to see, it ain't happening any time soon - which means never at B'Hops age.

Nah, B'Hops just doing what B'Hops does, he wouldn't be the guy he is without a few words of 'encouragement' to the young lions of the division.

      kovalev via knockout.

sorry, bernard. love you. mean it. see you in canastota. kovalev is going to be the guy that knocks you out. his feet aren't slow at all. he throws fast combinations. he's not just a bomber. if he can fight at his pace for 12 rounds at the very least he will outwork hopkins.

you don't talk a guy down ceaselessly if you're looking to fight him for a prize.

          Curtis Stevens?

Maybe you're right, but he's not going to convince anyone by talking him down. As far as 95% of the boxing world is concerned Kovalev is the real deal. The more Bernard talks about him, the more the public will want to see the fight (imo).

I'd be interested in seeing it, but at this stage of his career (and life) I wouldn't care if Hopkins looked past him.

Your a very poor boxing historian if you think taylor was a bum. Everyone thought pavlik (he boasted he would be the first to ko B-Hop ) and Tito(me included) would beat down B Hop. King even had Titos name inscribed on the trophy he had to tell B Hop he forgot to bring the trophy. Ive learned not to bet against B and over time i bet you will too.

I have watched Kovalev a few times and he is not flat footed or slow like Pavlik. He moves in and out, throws combinations and punches hard. I still doubt his stamina over the long haul at the pace he fights at, giving Hopkkins a chance to wear him out with tricks and in fighting but the guy was in a serious amateur system and moved seamlessly into a entertaining pro. Make the fight.

Bernard is truely a legend and ATG. I admire what he's done in this sport. However KOvalev would put a nusty and to BHops career. Worst possible combination for old legend: Fast pace, powerful combinations from different angles, fast feet.

there's no way that ol' man Hopkins gets into the same ring as Kovalev at this point....
