Will you recognize the winners on Sept14 as lineal champions?

Not talking about the Ring Title but are these fights not between the best fighters in the divisions? should there not be 2 new lineages started that day?Have we ever had that on one card before?

Alvarez beat Trout, who'd beaten old Cotto
Floyd beat old Cotto, left the division for 18 months
don't see how this fight should decide a lineal championship
not realistic, but would like Floyd to fight Lara after he beats Alvarez

as for dual new lineage, only one to pop to mind immediately is Baldo beating Zab the same night Bell beat Mormeck

At 140, definitely. Winner of Matthysse-Garcia shouldn't be questioned.

I won't complain that much about Mayweather-Alvarez, but I really don't like that the winner gets that title. The division is too unsettled for anyone to be called the lineal champ.

140 lineal title is vacant, will be established on September 14th yes. No doubt.

154 lineage is a lot weaker, as theres not really been many matchups at the weight, but it is no.1 v no.2 so yes that fight will fill another vacant title. The 154 lineage will have an * next to it, reading "Established at 152 catchweight" making it lose lustre.

Theres actually not that many lineal titles out there today, here are the current ones:

          175 - Stevenson (from Dawson)
168 - Ward (Vacant for Froch v Ward)
          160 - Martinez (from Pavlik)
          122 - Rigondeaux (from Donaire)
          112 - Yaegashi (from Igarashi)

Other lineages are disputed, and thus aren't universal. Big example is Wladimir Klitschko - did Chagaev rank over Vitali? Also Floyd, whilst was the lineal 147 champion, retired it, and Mosely/Pacquiao had no clear rank over eachother. Good to see more lineal champs up and coming. Shows you just how bad the RING belt has gotten

154's lineage has been a mess almost since the Cory Spinks days. I won't, because it's at a catchweight.

140, no doubt. #1 and #2 going head to head for all the marbles.

Light welter should no doubt have a lineal champ sorted out. Guys like Lara & Molina are still floating around 154. Until a fighter truly emerges as the best then the lineal champ won't be legit. Most are GBP fighters so hopefully we will get these match ups and get a clearer picture

154 is not looking so good, Lara drew with Molina and Vanes. Molina got screwed against Kirkland, Lara heavily struggled with Angulo which should have been a showcase fight. It's been real ugly.

I don't think Floyd or Canelo should be #1 or #2 at 154, it should be either Lara or Molina. Floyd is the best fighter from 154 on down, and even though Canelo hasn't done much I think he would beat Lara and Molina, so in my book they're the two best fighters in that weightclass but not the most proven.
