Comments Thread For: Marquez's Trainer: No Pacquiao, Mike Alvarado Possible

Juan Manuel Marquez has made it no secret that he has no desire to fight a fifth time with Manny Pacquiao who he knocked out in his last fight in the 6th round. Marquez decided to forego another rematch and instead started concentrate of capturing a world title in a fifth weight class.

Marquez’s trainer Nacho Beristain shares the same sentiment as his fighter as he has no interest in seeing both men fight again.

“No, no. I wouldn’t want to. They have fought 42 rounds and that’s enough for the people to find out they are both great fighters” said Beristain.

Nacho was then asked if he felt it was fair to give Pacquiao another fight as he had granted them rematches in the past. Beristain made it clear it’s not about returning the favor but more about making sure both fighters don’t cause permanent damage to each other. [Click Here To Read More]

      good
wanna see Pac retire after Rios and Marquez retire after Bradley
neither of them have a damn thing to prove anymore
and everybody wanted a KO to end the feud, and Marquez got one
Marquez maxed out in the 4th Pac fight, doubt he has anything left
any Alvarado fight sounds good but Marquez should just walk away

So juan wants to leave his rivalry
At 1 win 2 loses and a draw.

And doesnt want a rematch because he wants to think of his family,
And take no more damage. Doesnt want a maywrather rematch
, so he wants bradley coming out of two tough fights.

I think bradley beats him with ease. Juan obviously took to much damage vs
Pacman and hebis planning on stinking out bradley.
Not gonna work juan, bradley can adapt

Maybe this has something to do with the controversy surrounding those losses??

i think he should retire. he had a great career.

bradley was a GREAT choice for jmm, alvarado is also a solid choice... but if they BOTH continue to fight and win, their paths WILL cross again.

i think these statements further solidify the opinion that jmm doesnt want to risk losing again. they dont want a rahman/lewis scenario playing out.

I'm just glad someone cares about Manny's wealth being unlike his own people who want him to get slaughtered again.

Not sure about that although it was my first thought when I was reading the article. Health should always be first but then he mentioned the possibility of facing Alvarado which is good puncher and boxer. Then how is that going to help the health of Marquez?
