At the end of the day, when all the smoke is clear, Pacquiao will be remembered as one of the greats. Great point the other post said its like comparing Ali vs Frazier where Frazierwould get Ali sometimes, but Ali would be remembered as the greater fighter. Same goes with Marquez and Pacquiao. marquez may have gotten the best of Pacquiao, but Manny has a much much better resume.

When Pac moved up to his 7th division, the 4 highest rated welters were Mosley, Cotto, Marg, Clottey. He fought them back to back in 18 months. If he'd only beaten Cotto at a CW and went back down in weight, it'd still be unprecedented.

The chapter is closed, he got the clearest victory of the whole rivalry. Marquez is too prideful to be the B side against Pacquiao again. He can make as much money fighting two or three other guys.

Yeah but JMM went life and death with that old MAB and got knocked down by him. Pac fought him next and turned him into a runner for the first and only time in his career, just like Mosley. No, it would have been unprecedented if he fought Cotto at 145 and went back down to his 6th division. Look it up, it's a simple fact. Him staying up at welter and routing these 4 guys in short order is something else.
