I didn't see anyone asking Ward to change his style.

and i think 'boxing fans' have a great appreciation for rigo....

but the problem is.... generating 'buzz' and investment for a fighter like rigo is hard....

and it has nothing to do with his style....

      his main problems:

      he's old
      he's not a 'pretty boy'
      he doesn't speak english
      he's not controversial
and he doesn't have a built in fanbase.... like puerto ricans or mexicans have...

you don't have to be manny pacquiao or mike tyson to get people interested.... but you have to be 'interesting', people other than the hardcore fans have to want to watch.... that's what generates commercial interest.

Ward doesn't run anywhere near as much as Rigondeaux.

What the average FIGHT fan wants to see is someone who FIGHTS, not someone who runs for 10 rounds and taunts his opponents when they stop chasing him for 2 seconds.

It's a shame Rigo gets punished for doing the same thing the number one paid boxer in the sport does, and Rigo seems to have more power and has put more people away at his weight. I guess that's what you get for making somebody's cash cow look bad. HBO and Bob must have lost future millions.

I'm hoping my son has an interest in boxing when he gets older. If he decides to become a boxer, I sure hope he is as good defensively as Rigondeaux is. I would prefer him to fight like Rigondeaux than Margarito.

Rigo has more money he would have ever had in Cuba. I could be wrong, but I don't think he is tripping off the money or fame. He just wants to be treated as a champion.

                  no.... all wrong.

                  mayweather gets paid, why?

because he sells his fights.... controversy, bragging, talking, hyping his fights at all costs....

                  acting a fool....

                  disrespecting and trash talking opponents....

can rigo do that? no.... cos he doesn't speak the language.... it's a huge barrier....

either 'you' have to sell it.... or 'you' have to have a crowd pleasing style....

there has to be something to offer.... you don't even necessarily have to be able to speak the language, if you're willing to act an idiot.....

if rigo just acted like ricardo mayorga.... he'd sell.... and no one would have any problems selling him....

you have to have a 'gimmick'.... sad but true.

So you judging him based on the Nonito fight, he did what he had to do to win that fight and actually threw and landed more then Donaire... I think

He doesn't always fight running watch the Teon Kennedy or Rico Ramos fights this guy is very smart.
