At the Municipal Gym in Kobe, Japan, the Shinsei Boxing Gym staged a show headlined by a popular local star. In the 10-round main event, former bantamweight and featherweight champion and current WBC #5/WBO #2 featherweight Hozumi Hasegawa (32-4, 14KOs) scored a knockout victory at 2:51 of the third round against Sor Veeraphol Chantasith 8-3, 2KOs of Bangkok. After boxing for the first two rounds, Hasegawa let his hands go in the third and scored three knockdowns before the fight was waved off. After the match, Hasegawa said that he was focused on landing a fight with WBO/WBA champion Guillermo Rigondeaux.Comment

[QUOTE=Carlos Alberto;13669537]He doesn't know what's going on??? Bull crap!!! He knows exactly why he's not getting fight dates. He's freaken boring!!! It's the same reason why his countryman Lara doesn't get too many fight dates.[/QU
I agree,he knows why,but one thing he has to understand,if hbo doesn't want him because he's boring then they don't want him, period,,,,if he likes fighting the way he does that's fine, but he needs to understand that's not what most fans want, this is a business,he cant' have it both ways,he can become a great champ but just not a fighter who will bring in people, never a ppv fighter, thats just the reality of things, there are a lot of good fighters who aren't "stars"..Comment

I love how you hate homey!!!!! Damn you good at this ****, i want to be the nsb bill oreilly 1 day, im a hater & proud come join my hate on every thing positive
im so happy he is being black balled, he deserves it.
Is a live gate nightmare.
Boring fighter , boring am style, and he wastes your money.
Now he knows. Throw 8 punches per round playing it safe, go back to cuba
, no american money pays for that. Rigo is a 122 pound am fighter.
He beat donaire with no prep and gameplan.
And he put himself on a island .
Great fighter would move to 126/130 and ask for bigger fights, like mikey and juanma and salido and even gary russellComment

Rigo is the man. I wish he has the chance to fight Mares and Santa Cruz so he can show the world what Boxing is. Arum is ****** can't wait till that old man leaves Boxing, viejo sapingo!
I remember all the threads about Donaire stopping Rigo in 3 rounds haha all the Donaire,Top Rank and Arum fanboys are still mad that the little quiet Cuban guy derailed Donaire's greatnessComment

I think Rigondeaux vs. Hasegawa will happen on the Pacquiao vs. Rios undercard, then I think Rigondeaux vs. Darchinyan would be next for him on another undercard. After that, I would fully expect him to leave for another promotional company.
I'm sure 50 Cent's SMS Promotions would love to have him and I could see Lou DiBella, Gary Shaw or Dan Goosen to look at Rigondeaux. I personally wouldn't leave for Golden Boy Promotions unless Rigondeaux got certain promises, I would go with promoters that aren't involved in the Golden Boy/Top Rank war.
If he goes with a promoter that won't piss off either Golden Boy or Top Rank, and these other promoters have working relationships with HBO & Showtime, then why not? I think Rigondeaux to DiBella Entertainment would be his best move, he did wonders for Sergio Martinez's career.
It also seems like Goosen-Tutor Promotions has no problem making fights with Golden Boy or Top Rank, which means Rigondeaux getting put on Showtime & HBO. In the end, I'm sure Golden Boy will make a ****** money offer to Rigondeaux and who knows Al Haymon probably start managing him.Last edited by kombayn; 08-21-2013, 04:24 PM.Comment

He should go with Golden Boy because they have the only real big fights for him around that weight class. Santa Cruz and Mares. (Gary Russell Jr and even Rafael Marquez would be good too.)
But because of the promotional beef he better take advantage and fight any big name Top Rank fighters now, while he's still under their banner. Once he leaves Arum then he won't get a crack at them.Last edited by ShoulderRoll; 08-21-2013, 04:27 PM.Comment
