I honestly feel it is going to happen with whoever he signs. He's going to have to go back to 200k per fight basis to land fights because, promoters aren't going to put forward the kind of money they did for the Donaire fight...thats the sad truth.

What are you talking about? Where are you seeing that Rigo is asking for $2 million to fight?

He didn't even get that much for Donaire.

He got 750k. I doubt hell get many offers out of the 200-250k range at this point like I said, he has to take pay cuts if he wants chances.

Boring fighter , boring am style, and he wastes your money.
Now he knows. Throw 8 punches per round playing it safe, go back to cuba
, no american money pays for that. Rigo is a 122 pound am fighter.
He beat donaire with no prep and gameplan.

And he put himself on a island .
Great fighter would move to 126/130 and ask for bigger fights, like mikey and juanma and salido and even gary russell
Man you are one ****** idiot.

How excited would peeps be to see this guy the next time around if he left Donaire sprawled out on the canvas...That's the show business HBO sells...That's reality no matter how you argue it
Are you gonna act like he aint have Doanire on his bicycle in round, running around the ring with his lip puffed holding his eye like little f**

The bs like this HBO try to spew make you think Rigo hasnt ko'ed anyone when thats the furthest thing from the truth....................

Hozumi Hasegawa has stated that he is interested in challenging him for the title at 122lbs. That would be an HBO-approved title challenge. I hope that Top Rank isn't just stonewalling Rigondeaux; there was supposed to be an official announcement last week according to Bob Arum but now its Wednesday and still nothing

At the Municipal Gym in Kobe, Japan, the Shinsei Boxing Gym staged a show headlined by a popular local star. In the 10-round main event, former bantamweight and featherweight champion and current WBC #5/WBO #2 featherweight Hozumi Hasegawa (32-4, 14KOs) scored a knockout victory at 2:51 of the third round against Sor Veeraphol Chantasith 8-3, 2KOs of Bangkok. After boxing for the first two rounds, Hasegawa let his hands go in the third and scored three knockdowns before the fight was waved off. After the match, Hasegawa said that he was focused on landing a fight with WBO/WBA champion Guillermo Rigondeaux.

Not Golden Boy, but Mayweather Promotions because Mayweather has more flexibility as a promoter (no conflict of interest) and all the money is already guaranteed anyway so its only a matter of how many non-PPV shows can Rigondeaux get on Showtime since the PPV appearances are a lock.

Re: the article, Rigo is right; Arum is doing a terrible job promoting Rigo. Why not put a fight card on in Fl where there is a big Cuban population. If HBO doesn't want it, then do an independent PPV; or, put him on the undercard of Pac v. rios. There are plenty of options. There is room for great boxers. Not all boxers have to take 2 punches to land one
                    ^^This.

the fact that an October 5 HBO Florida card is being held by Top Rank and Rigo isn't on it as an undercard is blatant negligence on Bob Arum. The Cubans from Dade county could drive up to see him and Florida fight fans regardless of race or culture would appreciate his skills and standing as the best boxer in the state overall.

Rigo will in all likelihood end up on the Pacquaio undercard, like it or not boring fighters regardless of how talented they are do not pull in ratings and ratings = Money. I'd like for one of the arum bashers in here to show me one fighter in GBP that's as skilled and boring as Rigo pulling in $2 million, or doing ppv's, or doing anything beyond FNF, mini events, or FS1 or headlining any Showbox event. Mares is knocking people out, Mikey Garcia is knocking people out...that's all I gotta say about that ishh right there.
Rigondeaux is knocking people out too. If Donaire was so damn big at 143lbs on fight night then he probably would have got knocked out as well. Rigo is ready to face all comers at 122lbs and Hozumi Hasegawa has a very competitive resume and has stated that he wants a shot at Rigo's title.

I don't know where you are coming from with $2 million paydays. Rigo got no more than $750,000 I heard last April for beating Donaire who got 1.5 million. HBO could carry that nut, but the challenger has to be worthy = Hozumi Hasegawa is a former two-division world champion at 33-4 with 15 KOs who just scored another first-round knockout this month. They should make that fight for Macau, China on the Pacquaio PPV
