I agree 100%. Dudes have man-crushes on Lucas and cannot see how open he is for a nice counter. If they think Garcia is Peterson, they are in for a nice surprise. Garcia can take a shot and has pop in both hands.

Swift is a notch or 2 above Lucas in terms of skills. Lucas MAY have the edge in power but power alone is not going to get it done against Garcia.

People are hilarious. You can't just look at a guy, freeze frame a shot, and automatically conclude that Fighter B will counter him in that situation. Lucas sets up his punches, which allows him to be a bit wild from time to time. He doesn't just swing wildly throughout all of his fights like some of you guys try to make the casuals on here believe.

I like how People picking the betting favorite to win are just fanboys, but the best argument Garcia fans can come up with is that he lost to 2 fighters that have nothing in common with Garcia, both of which were arguable hometown decisions

Lucas will get clipped by a counter left hook sometime during the first three rounds while attempting a right hand to the body.....Lucas might recover but he'll go back down before the fight is stopped around round 9....is that thorough enough my man?

Yes, Devon Alexander is a great talented young fighter. I don't enjoy watching him fight, but his style and skillset could give anyone at 140-147lbs problems. I feel most people here would agree with my thoughts on this.

Mike Dallas has just as decorated an amateur career as Danny Garcia does, #1. His professional career hasn't been spectacular, but most aren't ready to write him off so quickly as you are. His father passed away right before the Matthysse fight. Not making excuses but it is something to consider.

Peterson is still regarded as one of the best in the division, beat Holt, Khan, and had a tough fight with Victor Ortiz, who despite what NSB will tell you, actually isn't a terrible fighter, not even close to it. And most people feel Peterson won that fight

None of this is relevant to my original point. I never tried comparing each fighters resumes to presume on that alone who is the better fighter.

You don't even need to do that for this fight, it's an easy style matchup prediction. Lucas is your typical boxer-puncher, ala Miguel Cotto except with more non-wasted movement, feints, and two-fisted power. Garcia is more of a flat-footed, poor-mans Marquez, except he doesn't have JMM's explosive combinations during his counter opportunities. He likes to load up on single shots, hoping that his opponents head is where he thinks it is.

Garcia also doesn't set up his offense nearly as well as Matthysse does, and Garcia also leaves himself open routinely for straight right hands.

Ric-Dic made an ignorant point earlier, claiming that because Morales is more technical than Matthysse, Lucas can't possible take advantage of any possible openings that Danny gives him. Pro tip: Lucas has fasters hands than Danny, #1. and #2, Mike Dallas has faster hands than Danny, and Lucas timed his jab perfectly, a punch Danny doesn't throw nearly as well or as fast.

I've yet to see a Garcia fan truely break down this fight, and not resort to regurgitating the same old "His timing will KO Lucas" nonsense. Boxing isn't binary. You can't sit and rely on countering your opponent, you need to keep them honest as well with offensive tempo, an area where Lucas will be the one catching Danny wide open.
