Oh please, lineal champ doesn't always mean best in the division. Sonny boy joro was sole unknown journeyman yet took the lineal title. There were only about 30 better fighters then him in the division. The LHW title has seemingly become worthless. It's been passed around 5 times in less then 2 years I think.

I agree. In some cases it means nothing. Not in this csae. Stevenson KO'd the best LHW in the world. Kovalev does not have as good a win. It's like you are minimizng a 1st rd KO of the lineal champ.

You could make a case for Bhop being #1 over adonis. But its hard to put Kovalev up there right now.

Im not sure if he's the best yet, it seems to me to be a division where the top guys could all lose to one another on any given night. Kovalev is the one to get excited about though imo! He's also my favourite in the division
