Well Stevenson is the Lineal 175 Champion... that alone makes him the shining star of the division right now

However the division is too packed to have a clear head and shoulders champion right now. It's almost like Middleweight, with Martinez's age and injuries

        Bernard Hopkins.
Then Stevensen since he KO'd Dawson in one (even though Ward tenderized dat ass)
        Then Kovalev

But Dawson beat him not that long ago.. I can't see why he can't do it again. Hopkins isn't Stevenson

I can see all these guys losing to one of the others on any given night. Don't think there's a guy who deserves to be called the best right now.

                Career-wise, without a doubt.

But this is asking who is the best right NOW.

Honestly, this division needs to be sorted out before the answer is truly clear. Right now I would lean toward Kovalev or Hopkins. Stevenson is the lineal champ but has only fought half a round at 175. He still has a huge amount of question marks. Kovalev does as well but destroying Cleverly answered some of them. Hopkins is still a top fighter too but he is past his best and I don't see him hanging around too much longer.

It's probably Hopkins. Stevenson is a bit limited and Kovalev might need some more experience. If Hopkins fights any of them right now i would favor him. In a year or two probably not.
