There isn't much out there for him though. If he beat Mayweather it'd probably be the biggest win Mexican Boxing has ever had, but then other than a rematch that's it.

Is he gonna move to 160? There is no one there for him besides Quillin who seems like he is ready to move up soon. and even then WTF is Quillin?

May 3rd, 2014 for another superfight v Martinez for the lineal MW championship then maybe a couple lite touches. At MW, and many here think hes there already with this drain crap, he has plenty of comp. GGG, Geale, Barker, Quillin, or at 54 Lara, Angulo, even Willie Nelson. Plenty of comp for him. Young kid who is just going to grow. Maybe one day in future a Ward fight

Is Martinez not locked into an HBO contract? Would be a very hard fight to make. Angulo and Lara would be nice fights but there is no way in hell GBP are putting him in with Lara unless he starts doing Mayweather revenues.

Why not? Canelo is a star and a likable one. He doesnt need the "0" and if he loses then he loses. He will still be a star.

Martinez wants the winner and im sure something will be worked out for a major fight but who knows thats a year away still.

I would like him v Angulo/Lara before he moves though

            No, stay away from Lara.

Angulo would be a great move. I think he'd kick his ass. They should do another one of those big Texas stadiums in an all Mexicali showdown. Would be monstrous. Put Mares or Santa Cruz on the undercard, boom.

It looks like Broner is the only one with star potential. Unfortunately it won't be easy for Canelo, Golovkin, and Matthysse with their limited English speaking abilities. Even Wladimir Klitschko never became a household name because his English is not great, and he's linked to a mainstream actress. The person I would like to see take the torch is Abner Mares. He'll probably have to face a really big star to get some name recognition. If Garcia end up beating Matthysse in dramatic fashion it would put him right on par with Broner.

agreed, if broner can rack up a couple good wins hes right in there with all his antics and garcia be rappin and all that too even if he looses sept 14 he still can be a star if he gets better and his dad will always keep his haters near by lol

The best case senerio for boxing would be for Broner to beat Floyd. Problem is, Broner has his head so far up Floyd's ass the match-up is unlikely. And even if it did happen, Floyd would dismantle this kid.

The point of that column is not who the next stars are but...who can reachthat mainstream level that floyd n manny have done with casual fans who rarely watchboxing but know them.
Too bad it wasn't an up an comer who knocked Pacquiao out cold instead of Marquez. Woulda been a good passing. So Canelo has histime sept
