I told people here 3 pages pages back to AVOID making the mistake that people make about how Mexicans aren't a race! Again, a RACIST comment by definition does not just cover a race, it covers nationalities, race, color, creed, and other titles! And Broner did not say Lopez cannot be stylish, he said Mexicans are limited and cannot be stylish and that is a derogatory comment made about a group of people which by definition is racism! He didn't select out Lopez, he put down Mexicans. That is why there was outrage when he said what he said. He directly insulted Mexicans! I have seen flashy, stylish Mexican Boxers and even if there has never been one, that is still an insult to a group of people. So it was not only a racial comment, it was incorrect. He also called them on Twitter: Wet-backs. That's 3 points that converge and send the message out what he thinks about them.
Wait let me get this straight.... So Broner do it and its classless.. koralev do it..

Sergey isn't normally like that.
They booed the Russian national anthem, KOvalev was angry about it.
Just like Tony Thompson was angry after they booed the American national anthem. He also gestured to the crowd after he KOed Price the first time.Comment

I think we got our wires crossed here. Who is Lopez?I told people here 3 pages pages back to AVOID making the mistake that people make about how Mexicans aren't a race! Correction, Perez. As mentioned, I have seen flashy, stylish Mexican Boxers and even if there has never been one, that is still an insult to a group of people. So it was not only a racial comment, it was incorrect. He also called them on Twitter: Wet-backs. That's 3 points that converge and send the message out what he thinks about them.
To those who think Racial comments are about race - understand the definition. Here it is:
"A racist comment will usually contain a word or phrase that is either a derogatory, offensive, or unfairly stereotypical to a particular race, ethnicity, religion, gender, or sexual orientation."
YES, all of the above!!Last edited by richardt; 08-18-2013, 11:00 PM.Comment

Who cares? Kovalev was getting the crowd back for disrespecting both he and his national anthem. He was also showing Cleverly that he can play to the crowd as well with the hip thrust.
Broner is disrespectful in almost every interview and has basically painted himself as an urban dunst. He did that to himself, nobody has an agenda to ruin his rep. He has made racial comments as well but remember, he did all that to himself.Comment

Maybe he should make videos of himself helping out kids instead of demoralizing his dad and his fiancee on national TV or flushing cash down the toilet during a recession. You reap what you sow.Comment

As a final note, this is worth repeating. Here is the definition so that people realize that racial comments are about more than just race:
"A racist comment will usually contain a word or phrase that is either a derogatory, offensive, or unfairly stereotypical to a particular race, ethnicity, religion, gender, or sexual orientation."Comment
