      Prime examples:

Mayweather vs Hatton weigh in and Haye-Wlad weigh in.

Unfortunately it didn't really help much.

I'm talking about what the majority of british boxing fans do at press conferences/weigh-ins/fight night. They're more disrespectful than fans from other countries, at least from what I've seen, you gotta admit that. They have some qualities that other fans don't have but respect ain't one of them.
Yanks don't seem to have a sense of humour or irony so I guess I should understand why you'd find a chant like "Who are you" to be offensive

I'm not american but yelling "who are you" at an elite fighter is disrespectful. I don't mind when fans boo a c.ocky fighter who plays the bad guy, it's logical, but booing a fighter just because he's not from your country? Where else do you see that? There's a clear lack of respect over there.

It's ironic. Mayweather is one of the most recognisable faces in the world, chanting "Who are you" at him is ironic. I remember fans chanting "you fat bastard" at him when he weighed more than Hatton at the weigh-in. It's banter.

            • lol at this turning into a Yanks don't get our sense of humour thread.

A lot of it comes from football and the banter between teams..

Ask Buffer where he would most like to announce and he says the UK, because we turn up and have fun! If you want to sit down and say nothing just watch it at home, we have big turn outs at events for a reason!

Does everyone in the UK refer to Americans as "yanks" or is that some type of derogatory word?

It's not just about Mayweather, it's about the general behavior of british boxing fans, they're more disrespectful than other fans, it's a fact. But it's not a huge deal to me, at the end of the day it's a one-on-one sport, they can't do **** besides talking and booing.

Dude it's all fun and games. We are just messing around. If you want to sit down and say nothing in a fight, go to Germany,

I could be wrong, but then again, I could be right in saying that Nazeem Hamed was booed constantly when he was fighting in America. Tyson Fury didn't do too well either.

At least we are original enough to come up with something better than "boooo".

To you it's disrespectful, you're a sensitive guy obviously.
