Funny. I recall they booed Tszyu's anthem as well and Kovalev likely saw that fight as we most all did. I think it's just bad manners and Kovalev's response was appropriate thus. I hope it doesn't spread over here in the U.S. or to other countries.

Yup, you are right. I seem to remember how much respect the Brits showed Marvin Hagler after he stopped Alan Minter. The crowd respected Hagler so much that they all wanted to drink a beer with him after the fight. The problem was that they knew that wasn't possible so they decided that instead of drinking a beer with him that they would just throw their beers at Hagler. It got so out of hand that Hagler had to be escorted out of the arena before he was even introduced as the new middleweight champion of the world.

Not true. Mayweather is hugely popular in the UK even after he KO'd Hatton. In fact, that's where most of his support came from. UK fans clap off opposing players after they've destroyed their teams in football, you don't know what you're talking about
