Sturm beats him I don't think barker is that good he just beat a very average champion.

Sturm was an average titlist too.

Geale: L (SD) Barker, W (SD) Sturm
Murray: D (MD) Sturm
Macklin: L (SD) Sturm

They are of a similar caliber. 3G and Quillin stand out at MW because of their power, but even they have yet to be truly tested. I think they have what it takes to test each other, but we know why that won't happen.

The poster I replied to called Barker/Geale average. If they're average, and Sturm lost the title to Geale, then he's average too.

With that said, Sturm does has skill and I particularly like his jab. He's had some enjoyable bouts recently, but his lack of power sucks.

I think a prime Sturm would KO Barker, but this version in the UK is a winnable fight for Darren. Glad Hearn won't send him over to Germany.

There's quite a few people that disagree with you on that one. That fight could of gone either way.

Quillin doesn't stand out except for being unwilling to fight top contenders, he was out-boxed by N'Dam and will take another soft touch in the Autumn.

It's Martinez and Golovkin who stand out in the division with Murray just behind.

I guess that hopes for unification fight vs GGG went up in smoke... Somehow I hoped that Geale would fight him (thought he already showed his guts by giving up his WBO belt). Hoping for Barker to man up to fight Gennady is absurd. Hearn said clearly (few months ago) that he doesn't want his fighter anywhere near GGG.
It will be ongoing boring saga - Barker vs Sturm, Sturm vs Geale 2, Barker vs Geale 2 and on and on. I would not watch any of it.

Geale might fight Golovkin anyway, ditto Sturm. At 32 and 34 they're getting older so the money has to start looking attractive.

Geale didn't have a rematch clause? I would rather see a rematch than see Sturm recycled again.
