Disappointing performance from Cleverly, could've won if he sticked to the gameplan and not stay inrange with Kovalev

People keep saying this but Clev would've never been able to "stick to a gameplay". He was bothered even by grazing shots from Kovalev and seemed desperate that his power wasn't enough to him Kovalev off of him.

Either way, cong**** to the new champ. Kovalev you earned it!

Clev looks like a beaten man who just had his soul snatched.....if the kid is as good as I think he can be....he'll bounce back from this

Frankenstein impressed me big time....imo he's the best of the so called "Boogeymen"....GGG is for real as well but this Kovalev dude is more beastly and imo the much better fighter....Swift will show that Lucas shouldn't even be in the same convo as those 2......Frankenstein will KO any LHW not named Bernard Hopkins IMHO

clev couldn't beat that guy if he had baseball bat. how about he isn't very good. I don't want to hear he had an off night or he should have boxed etc. at best he is a c+ rate fighter who will get better. don't get me wrong he is not a bum which no fighter is. it takes heart to get in there. this is just another example of a fighter being rushed into a good situation but choosing the wrong opponent. great experience for him. we will see if he has the will to get right back in the gym and make those improvements.

He was not only koed, he was outboxed too... Kovalev had an answer for everything that Cleverly was trying

Cleverly IS not that good does not matter how he fights Kovalev he still gets knock the **** out

Kovalev looked great and has good hand speed coupled with some serious power. Cleverly was completely outclassed.

What I found kinda funny, but could have also got him disqualified, was how accurate he was landing shots on a falling target. He could not miss, even when Clev's head was nearly on the canvas. LOL

Kovalev is just that good. Don't forget how he killed a man back in 2011. Look up Roman Simakov. Dude is just a straight monster...him and GGG at a catchweight would be fight of the century
