Everyone who's seen his career knows Barker is a decent fighter they were just calling out Martinez for what was a shameless cherry pick at the time over a guy who was unranked and only had 1 fight above domestic level for the European title in which he struggled.

Nah, Martinez got the rightful heat for cherry picking an unranked guy who'd struggled in his sole fight north of Domestic level.

Like I said with or without what Martinez did, Barker is a good fighter. And he did get heat over the fight. By people saying he wasn't any good and who is he. Point is he's an excellent fighter (whether Martinez cherrypicked him or not). Very simple.

The general consensus from many here was the Barker is a mediocre, outside the top 10 at MW, domestic level bum that Martinez cherrypicked. Only a few posters (from what I can gather), were propping Barker up at all. I firmly believed from the night of the Martinez fight that Barker was easily a top 5 guy in the division, he clearly showed the world last night. The dude is a stand up guy, very humble, respectful, and full of heart......glad to see Barker getting his shine on.

And this is what I'm saying. I don't see why my bwoy Mr Dan would quote me and trying to even act like it wasn't like that. From that fight against Martinez I tried to reason with people.
