Geale came within a split second of winning the fight as Barker barely beat the count in the sixth after being dropped by a left hand body shot.
One judge scored the fight 114-113 to Geale, while the other two had Barker ahead 114-113 and 116-111.
Barker outworked Geale over the closing rounds, though Geale clearly won the 12th. Geale lost for just the second time in 31 professional fights. Geale is renowned for being dominant over the closing rounds, but it was Barker who finished the stronger apart from the last. Geale scored well with some right hands, but Barker was often able to land first. [Click Here To Read More]
Geale consistently got tagged with solid counter shots and Barker out landed him in virtually every round. If they fight again, Darren will win in even more dominant fashion. Geale was listening to his corner who were telling him he was winning when in reality, he was falling behind.

Has even had a chance to watch the fight yet? Just cause scores were close don't mean you won. I thought the right man won.

I had the same card 8-4 Barker 115-112 due to the knockdown. Right guy won that's all that matters.

He has no power, weak defense and he moves and jumps around like a kangaroo. Must mention that horrible introduction before he entered the ring ...a complete joke! Yes he has stamina so maybe he should re-think his boxing career and become a marathon runner. C level at best.

For example i have my card here and thought rounds 9 and 11 were somewhat close yet Barker outlanded Geale 25/18 and 21/13 in both so they may have been competitive but don't see how you can possibly give them to Geale.

It was clearly a close fight, a razor close fight that could have gone either way.
That's the consensus to everyone that isn't obviously biased.
Saying he dominated rounds 1 and 2 and dominated from 7-11 is absolutely ridiculous. The vast majority of those rounds clearly could have gone either way.
You're not living in reality if you think this was a one sided fight.Last edited by IronDanHamza; 08-18-2013, 12:22 PM.

Do it Barker, DO IT !!
The only way he gets the rematch is if Geale beats GGG so it can be a unification bout.
Unified champ gets to fight Martinez for his retirement fight.
