He would beat Chavez and Sturm imo. He would probably outbox Chavez, he changed it up against Geale, and was the aggressor, but he would outsmart Chavez.

He would beat Sturm in similar fashion to what he did with Geale. Golovkin's not even worth mentioning, I don't think Eddie would let Barker anywhere near that fight.

LOL, he''l beat the snot out of Sturm....Barker will always be one of those guys people are dismissive about and he will always outperform his pre-fight assesment.

outstanding effort by Barker -- very rare to see a guy get up from a solar plexus punch like that, let alone come back later in the round and then win the next few rounds -- he's not an elite fighter but totally deserves acclaim for what he did last night

I remember how much crap Martinez got on this board for even fighting Barker, much less struggling with him for a while. It should be clear now why he struggled Barker is a very good fighter. What a win for him and what a gutsy effort to get up from that body shot. I'd love to see a rematch.

What a fight. And nobody could deny Barker his moment of glory, one of boxing's most likeable guys. Made me proud.

Only shot Barker has moving forward would be Chavez Jr. and thats not saying much. Maybe Sergio but it's doubtful a rematch will happen.

I like & respect Barker but lets not give Sergio too much credit. IMHO while he is a belt holder he is over rated. Look how Chavez Jr almost took him out in the 12th round. Who knows - Barker just might beat him if LDB ever gave the nod for a rematch.
Regardless Martinez's days are numbered so it makes sense not to risk that last big pay day before he retires.
