Time for Frank Warren to retire

Been running British boxing for years now.

I remember when cleverly was a young kid with good potential, but he got the typical warren career movement and it come back to bite him on the ass tonight.

Warren is too old school, he never moved with the times and is lost in today's game, thank god Joshua didn't sign with him

I'm surprised he even put him in there with Kovalev to be honest but like you said, all those years of fighting nothing but euro bums does nothing for you but pads out your resume.

When you step up to world level it ends like this. Not saying that Clev would have won had he had better prep and stuff but Warren just doesn't build fighters in the right way IMO.

Cleverly didn't belong in the ring with Kovalev. He gets hit too much, and he can't punch. It wouldn't have mattered if Angelo "Eddie" Duva trained Cleverly and threw him in with tough comp early. He could never beat Kovalev. Another one bites the dust huh Earl, or is it Hurl?

When boxnation started his stable was packed with the best in Britain, while hearn was headlining the likes of paul mccloskey. Now everyones moved because of the sky platform. It's not because of Warrens inability to promote, the guy is one of the best. But yes he's running out of stars and things aren't looking good.

He rolled the dice and it's backfired. If Bellew manages to land the WBC title I'd expect Cleverley to be sniffing for a world title shot, which might result in him migrating to Matchroom.

            = carnage for Frank

              Frank's stable falling to pieces.

I was under the impression Kovalev was a mandatory defence for Cleverly. Just been told it was a voluntary. Absolute insanity! Frank has made an arse of it.

Did anyone else see his eyes tonight? It was like he hadn't slept in days (or someone had punched him in both eyes...). Maybe it's time to quit for his own health.

Why because he put his fighter in a real fight?

I am a old man and i remember when unbeaten would only mean you are just starting your career or you have not fought anyone.

Now it still means the same but when you got that "0" now it comes with a whole lot of unearned hype.

Thats what is wrong with the game now and why it is so shocking and rare to get two fighters who can really fight willing to fight each other.

Kudos to Frank for being a real promoter, sometimes you win sometimes you lose but real fighters always take that chance and think nothing of it because either way they know they will be better from the experience.

You need to double space this and then sig it. Very good post.
