Yesterday Kovalev looked drained and weak. Today he was huge and made Cleverly look anorexic....must have rehydrated 15 or more pounds.

I think Kovalev would likely beat Froch

Kovalev, because I don't believe that you can count on a chin to get past him. He'll only be beaten by guys who can stop him landing punches imo.

I've not seen the Reid fight but the bombs he took in the Kessler fight was amazing. Most boxers would've been out cold from some of those shots. Froch took them and kept on coming forward. Dirrel hurt him with speed though and had nothing to do with with punshing power.

He said in his book (pre-Kessler II, so I don't know about that) that Reid hurt him more than anyone, he was really phased at the end of a round.

As for the question, people still underrate Carl.

You act like Froch didn't come back from these fights and win. Maybe I would agree if he was actually stopped so this means nothing.

EDIT: Froch/Kessler II we're on about right? When Kessler did that massive combo in round 10 or something?

it's hard to get away from kovalev; he makes the ring feel very small. to beat him you need to be able to throw punches at the same time as him and have the power to hurt him. i guess a light-heavy equivalent of a marquez or someone. occasionally he seems to surge forward a little recklessly and throw an extra couple of punches when he really ought to be thinking about protecting his chin in case of counter punches.

I don't wanna see Froch take punches from Kovalev at all. Even seeing him take punches against Kessler, Pascal is bad but Kovalev will seriously hurt him

What about kessler vs kovalev, then?

                  Now that would be interesting!

Kovalev will murder froch i dont see anybody in the world taking his punches for 12 rounds look at what happened to the guy who lasted 7,his combinations are very accurate and every shot is solid.

It would be a good fight but i think Kovalev stops him in 5.
