Or another way to put it is if Liston could beat any of todays heavies then I might as well sign up to fight them myself!

Or another way to put it is anybody who really thinks Liston has any real chance to beat a modern heavy is what we refer to in Australia as a BLOODY IDIOT! lol

He is a **** boxer by comparison to today! There is no nicer way to describe it.

When Liston was champ he was imo the best in the world up to that time. But from the moment he was whipped by Ali he was never again going to be a serious factor at HW.

But I do think he would have belted up Frazier and maybe Ken Norton!

Seriously look at that list. McCline is a giant with decent skills. Chambers and Byrd are elusive masters. Chagaev and Ibragimov and Peter are MODERN CHAMPS! The Klitschko's and Lewis please! lol It's a sick joke really.

I think it is very disrespectful to compare!

It's disrespectful to any boxing fan on NSB that a perma ban has not been put on you yet, HWblogger.

He has made what I call an unbiased and most importantly "objective" assessment of the REAL Liston. Not the mythical one. I congratulate him on having the balls to look for the truth himself.

I see him beating everyone, 50/50 against Lewis.

Man this board has lost all common sense...

I love it how what would today be a cruiser weight would demolish everyone in the division in the last 10 years...

                      ignorant and uneducated post.

The 'new age' fans on this forum is what is in decline of common sense. Liston was a solid heavy, and KO'd people that were 6'4 and 6'5 often.

Liston wouldn't even be a small heavy in today's climate with your Byrd's, Haye's, Chambers', Gomez', Sosnowskis', Adameks' etc etc

Only the klitschko's and a couple of stiffs like Thompson and Wach are significantly bigger.
