Because he's a relatively younger dude ... Probably somewhere in the average demographic of people who post on this site or just a tad bit older... And he has their dream job !!! In other words ENVY.

Fact is he's said his fair share of ****** things.. Most people who get paid to talk do... But the guy paid his dues ... Ad he knows his ****..

He's a boxing nerd like the rest of us ... He gets paid though... We don't.

Also he hates on fighters... I mean, I expect ****-riding, but hating? He's the only one that does that

Max works perfect with lampley imo.

Both are refined and distinguished gentlemen who bring class and dignity to boxing. HBO is a classy network and has an excellent broadcast.

All they need is a better boxer-analyst (aka Malinaggi). Roy Jones/Andre Ward are what brings down the experience. Jones and Ward are a bit inconsistent for my liking, although I loved Jones' "he's not getting up Jim! He's not getting up!"

I could never have respect for somebody that has never been in a ring and taken a punch or two as a commentator, that's just me! You could have tons of historical data to spit out but you will never have the fighters perspective!
