Comments Thread For: Glazkov Hopes To Face Dereck Chisora on September 21

Undefeated 28-year-old Ukrainian heavyweight Vyacheslav Glazkov (15-0, 11KOs) is hoping to fight British contender Dereck Chisora (17-4, 11KOs) on September 21 at Copper Box. Glazkov had a recent controversial draw with Malik Scott in February and Chisora stopped him in controversial fashion in July. Glazkov came back on August 3rd and knocked out Byron Polley in two rounds.

Glazkov's manager Egis Klimas, who also handles Sergey Kovalev, is currently in England for this Saturday's Nathan Cleverly clash. Klimas will be talking with promoter Frank Warren about the Chisora fight.

Was it the girl in your pic?

Glazkov has a controversial win over Scott and Chisora has a controversial win over him so it's a good matchup.

Prefer Johnson to Glazkov if it's down to those two. Everyone says Glazkov lost to Scott and Chisora just beat Scott so it's not proving much.

Seriously? Johnson isn't a contender and he's boring as hell. Glazkov is a prospect emerging contender and would make for a way better fight. He also has a excellent chin Chisora wouldn't be stopping him.

Chisora might not want to face Johnson. He's one loss from completely falling into the pit of obscurity, but his style is all wrong for Chisora.

Saying that, props to Chisora if he goes that direction. Ill be fine with Glazkov, though.

Can't believe anyone would want to see Johnson against anybody, ever. No wins of any note in his entire career, has never looked impressive, and simply gave up and tried to survive in his defeats. I really hope they fight someone else, virtually anyone else.

People can argue that Chisora beat Scott who beat Glazkov and was robbed. But Glazkov beat Hamer who beat Johnson. You can play that kind of game all day with who beat who, the reality is that Johnson will be defensive for 12 rounds and lose a wide UD. Glazkov might not be the first guy I'd pick to fight Chisora but he's good enough and will actually try which will result in a decent fight.

Johnson is like the Allen Green of his division in that you can always count on him to lose and give a disappointing effort. Green at least has power and has thrown with intent once or twice against a decent fighter, still waiting on Johnson to achieve those lofty heights.
