Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates--The first-ever live professional boxing competition is coming to Abu Dhabi. Lion Heart Boxing Productions, a global Boxing Promotion and Sports & Entertainment Company based in Kinnelon, New Jersey (USA), will introduce live professional boxing to Abu Dhabi by producing a version of its acclaimed Thursday Night Fights series at the 5,000-capacity du Forum, located on Yas Island, in Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi’s first-ever live professional boxing event is billed Thursday Night Fights @ Yas Island and is scheduled for October 17, 2013. It will feature top boxers from the international scene as well local and regional boxing stars. Thursday Night Fights @ Yas Island, as the first-ever live professional boxing event in Abu Dhabi history, rightly will start with a big ****. Thursday Night Fights @ Yas Island will feature former British Heavyweight Champion and Commonwealth Heavyweight Champion Danny Williams (46-11), Moroccan Welterweight Champion Said Ouali (29-4), as well as Dubai’s Mohammad Ali Bayat (3-0), all against opponents to be announced. Danny Williams’ illustrious career includes a knockout win over former Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World, Iron Mike Tyson. Williams also served as Two Times British Heavyweight Champion (most title defenses); Two Times Commonwealth Heavyweight Champion (also most title defenses); WBO Inter-Continental Heavyweight Champion; and WBU Champion. Ouali, who attended ADISE 2013, has been ranked in the top ten in his weight class. [Click Here To Read More]

Danny has lost his last 7 in a row and been knocked out 5 times in the last 3 years. He's LONG been finished. I'm surprised he's able to get a boxing license.

Maybe that's why he's fighting in Abu Dhabi, no one else would give him a license

Danny admitted he was never the same after getting blitzed by Klitschko in 2004 and he is here 10 years later fighting! And then before getting embarrased by Derek Chisora he announced that he was retiring and was going to be a bodyguard for VIP's and celebrity's and then comes back to boxing to be a journeyman! Why did he never take his bodyguard job seriously? Surely it beats getting your head smashed in by young men for peanuts ! I wish he just focused on his bodyguard career as he is fully trained and could make a nice living off of that.

I actually find this story quite sad. I remember Danny Williams winning the British title, knocking out Potter despite having a dislocated shoulder, he is as brave as they come and it's just a shame to see it come to this for Danny.

Danny dont need this hes earning good money as a bodyguard i think its just hard for him to leave the sport he loves, his last fight with Dominic Negus was an exibition and they both said after it it was the last time they would compete in the ring.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GA_903ay9tQ (Heres part of the fight)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5qg58HTR3M (And Dannys interview after it saying its his last fight)

yes. This is the type of fight that I expect Dubai to get the most of. At least starting off.

Fights that have literally no appeal anywhere else with knowledgeable fans.

I can't even begin to count the amount of articles on BS that I've read where it states yet another Danny Williams retirement. :conf3:

Danny used to be a good fighter and will always be a real nice guy but he just shouldn't be in there any more. What we're going to end up with is something that was common years ago but rarely seen today, an ex-boxer walking about punch drunk with badly slurred speech. Very, very sad.
