Super featherweight Francisco Vargas remained unbeaten with a one-sided 10 round unanimous decision over Brandon Bennett last Friday night.

However, the former Mexican Olympian will be sidelined for a period of time due to an injury suffered during the fight.

That is according to his manager Joel De La Hoya, who notified Boxingscene.com earlier this week.

During the fight, Vargas (17-0-1, 13 KOs) suffered a cut due to an accidental clash of heads. However, Vargas was able to overcome the blood that covered his face through most of the fight. [Click Here To Read More]

    Juarez again?

I get that Vargas has only had 16 fights, but he's 28 and doesn't look particularly green. Not saying he should be going for a title yet but it gets pretty tiresome as a boxing fan to see the same gatekeepers used over and over again on TV in fights where you already know the outcome before as soon as the fight is announced.
