Brian Vera is a small middleweight, and Chavez Jr. is basically a dehydrated cruiserweight. Brian Vera has multiple losses and gets hit a lot. How on Earth is he going to even trouble Chavez Jr.? Even an 'unmotivated' Chavez Jr. knocks him out, and probably by Rd. 6-8.

            Vera vs Chavez

I like Vera but I think he's overmatched in this one. I will say this though, he is very entertaining.

they're not going to let Jr. in against any top tier guy who is in his prime EVER -- Vera is a perfect opponent for him -- has some credibility but is no more than a B+ guy on his best night -- Jr's career reminds me of another overhyped and protected guy from a previous era who was also handled by his father -- Ray Mancini -- he never fought anyone real, won a title against a guy that no one had ever heard of and had the best fight of his career in a gallant KO loss against the 1st and only elite guy he ever fought who was in his prime at the time, Arguello -- Jr is basically going that same route
