the Ginger ain't no Santos... the ginger gets beat down like Cotto got beat down in the first fight... the ginger's corner will throw in the towel or the ref will stop it. the ginger won't be able to handle the pace that Marg would set... the ginger's stamina is garbage. also Mosley said the ginger only hits as hard as Cherrypicker. that means Marg is walking through everything the ginger is throwing and putting the hurt on the ginger

The first fight didn't have enough action to say who won or would have won.

The second fight while I thought Margarito was up by a point wasn't a big robbery and both fighters were hurt in that fight. Margarito wasn't dominant at 54 like he was at 47.

One of his main advantages was his size, at 54 that was gone so he's not the same monster.

This fight would depend if Canelo's puches would hurt Margo. If they don't then Margo would win on pressure and stamina since Canelo only fights in spurts

I'm not sure why everyone holds Alvarez up on this pedestal as if he'd legitimately proven himself. The longer the fight the better the odds are for Margarito.

If old Shane Mosley destroyed prime Margarito, Alvarez is certainly capable of the same.

Margarito after Mosely was badly faded. Even the version that fought Pacquiao. Canelo would beat that version easy. The Margarito before Mosely teed off on fighters much smaller than him. Plus there was always the question of loaded wraps. Against Clottey, he struggled until Clottey faded down the stretch. Canelo would beat that version but it would probably go the distance.

This would've been an excellent fight/contrast in style. It's a tough matchup to pick because we've never seen Canelo dig deep in a fight. He's had little adversity in his career. Margarito and his elite stamina and constant pressure would surely push Canelo to the limit. From what I've seen of both fighters, I would have to favor Margarito. He would give Alvarez major problems in the latter rounds of the fight. Canelo's stamina issues could be his downfall. I absolutely love this matchup though. Canelo's combination punching, body punching and counter punching will all be keys for him to succeed. I think Canelo does well early and will have to weather the storm late to win.

55-45 in favor of Margarito. This would've been a classic fight.
