Kovalev is a beast, very persistent and strong. He squares himself up after throwing a couple punches and he is a little off balance when attacking. You would find success retreating during his attacks and jumping in at him with a quick couple of punches or one solid punch after he is finished punching. He'll be squared up and not able to throw effective punches without resetting his feet, that's one window of opportunity.

Cleverly has a style that will be troublesome for Kovalev and Cleverly does very good work to the body....something I don't see many people commenting on. Nice right uppercut as well that I personally think he can land at will on Kovalev.

This fight will be very interesting due to the style matchups. I wouldn't be surprised if Cleverly pulls the upset on this one. Kovalev's power is the difference maker for me though, I feel he may be able to wear Cleverly down with pressure.

Have you seen the Boone fight? I am going to check that out when I get a chance. Only time he went 8 rounds and it was an SD. Wonder if it was actually close.

I don't think he's ever gone past 8 rounds. He fights at quite a high pace so it will be interesting to see if he can maintain that if it gets into the later rounds. Cleverly can do the 12 quite easily.

Of course, he won the rematch but it's interesting that he got knocked down in the later rounds. Darnell Boone is the like the knockdown king - first Ward, now Kovalev. Also KO'd Stevenson.
