The thing is though the way Wlad has been fighting for the last several years puts him in the danger zone against Wilder. Wlad has been used to out ranging guys and using that to stay out of their wheel house but Wilder out ranges Wlad so if he just does his thing he is bringing big risks into play that he normally avoids like the plague.

Now Wlad does have options as he used to be very good on the inside and threw some mean hooks but when was the last time we saw him bust out anything like that and that would be the best way to totally defuse Wilder but skills unused do become rusty which makes using them a risky proposition also.

Wlad's jab may be able to completely defuse Wilder as it is by itself but Wilder may only have to land once to win that fight.

Wlad would certainly deserve to be a heavy favorite but that fight is very different from most everything presented to him thus far in his career.

i will say this, whatever fight he's in he'll have a shot, because of the power.
yes, but 27 is not old for a hw. He's a natural athletic talent, so he can polish his boxing and become champ, I do think so.

He has been brought along so carefully and it seems strange that we really dont know how he copes in a tough fight or how his chin stands up after 30 fights. It'll be interesting to see who his next three opponents are.
Good points made. He needs rounds for sure. I really want to see him fight the Arreola-Mitchell winner. If he get's past that, he should fight a tall hw like Helenius, Price, Fury, Dimitrenko. Wilder obviously lacks boxing skills, but he can improve this with a good trainer.

hah, you so cynical. It's the most promising hw you have since Tyson.

Agree completely, actually I believe Wilder is right now the most dangerous opponent for Wladimir.

it's a lot easier to learn an athletic craft in your youth. 27 is very old for a fighter still literally learning to box.

It is tough to say as it is kind of a tallest midget in the room conversation but I could see why Wilder could cause him issues. I also think that is a fight where the loss of Steward could be big as the plan could have to change a bit rather than just sticking with the same old plan.

Wladimir has not really faced an opponent like Wilder. Maybe Wach, but I consider Wilder superior to Wach in every way.

Who has the better chin? pretty key in a fight against Wilder one might say.
