Deontay Wilder is THE American heavyweight

America needs to put their faith in Wilder as savior of the hw division once the Klitschko's retire. Wilder needs to polish his boxing skills, and he can dominate the division in years to come. He's big, strong, athletic, in shape, has a monster right hand. With a great trainer and devotion, he can become the real deal, and bring them titles back to the USA!!!

He just needs to develop enough skills so that he can always find a way to deliver that right hand. With how bad most the division is, that's all he'll need most the time.

Let's be real though, Wlad would probably demolish him.

I don't know if I would go that far, but is nice to watch a guy and think wow this guy actually has athletic talent maybe he could be something. Not to mention he knocks dudes out and that is what heavyweight boxing used to be about.

I think he will always be flawed as a boxer though because he started so late, but the question is can his strengths cover up most of his flaws and I think that is a real possibility. If someone can deal with his strengths he will probably lose those fights because he won't have other stuff to fall back on but that requires someone who can deal with his strengths.

he has beat up a lot of bums. Haven't really seen a great test yet. He has the power and explosiveness to put any HW out. I just wanna see if he can fight 12 rounds with a vet of the sport.

You make sense but you are being far too kind. Wilder is just not good and is only viable because the division is trash and people are desperate to see someone new fight Wlad.

Of course. Just off his talent and power, Wilder will matter. If he actually develops any real skill he'll be a dominant force because of how bad the division is.

I'm not even considering Wlad. By the time Wilder would be considering getting in the ring with Wlad, Wlad will probably be retired. They'll be calling out the retired champ and calling him a coward to make Wilder sound like a bad man.

i don't think he's goign to be a great, or even very good boxer. he might win a title after the klitschkos retire. he started boxing too late. he boxes like a novice, and he's 27 years old.

i will say this, whatever fight he's in he'll have a shot, because of the power.

I'm starting to get a little belief that he really can do something and win world titles. Crude as he is, he has shown signs of a really good jab recently and that is an absolutely vital weapon for HW's today. He has been brought along so carefully and it seems strange that we really dont know how he copes in a tough fight or how his chin stands up after 30 fights. It'll be interesting to see who his next three opponents are.

nah, wilder isn't much but a right hand he developed a jab and his left hook more i noticed but still he looked awkward throwing it(his left hook).

i don't see a bright future for him.
