Two possibilities either he is trying to hold out for more money which he won't get because he won't get 300K anywhere else or it was a huge bluff just to get people talking so he can get easier fights for less money.

Maybe he will come to his senses soon and take the fight after realizing the deal offered is as good as it gets, who knows its a good opportunity.
