I think Cleverly likes to trade too much for his own good. Tony Bellew showed this and he doesn't have Kovalev's pop.

I think Cleverly has a good shot for sure.

Kovalev is good but he's limited. He has exceptional power and he cuts off the ring well but again, he's limited.

I could see Cleverly outboxing him especially if he get's out of the first 5 rounds.

Should be a good fight, I can't wait. The winner will have proven a lot.

Slow Kovalev's output with his own perhaps? The impression I get from Cleverly is that his offense is his defense. That could lead to him getting the victory or it could lead to his undoing. I guess it depends on how aggressive he chooses to be. Either Kovalev meets him with force or he retreats and we find out if Kovalev can fight on the back-foot.

I really don't think Cleverly can keep Kovalev off of him. He seriously has no pop.

Clev is active, he throws combos, and he's tough...but I seriously think he's getting walked down in this fight.

Kovalev by...let's say 10th round stoppage in a good competitive fight.

His power is underrated. Just because you don't have as many KO's as wins, doesn't mean you can't **** and get respect from your opponent.

Put it like this, he's no Paulie Malignaggi.

I haven't even seen Kovalev fight tbh, I have seen some rounds in a few fights and he looks to me quite slow on his feet, even if others say otherwise. He has power which is a game changer because some people have power that a human just can not take.
Actually, what I got from seeing Cleverly fight is he has a great deal of potential. I saw him slip punches and counter really smoothly. Almost textbook.

From what I've seen from Kovalev is all power. He's really slow and I highly doubt he lands that on Cleverly. I see Cleverly pushing him back and landing beautiful textbook punches.

From what I've seen, Cleverly can box when he has too and has pretty damn good form.

Cleverly reminds me of a young calzaghe,, may not be as good, but his volume punching is incredible,,
Grant it i have only seen cleverly fight twice,, last time being the shawn hawk fight, but i liked what i saw in cleverly,,,

If he can avoid knockdowns and Ko,, i think he has a legit chance to out-hustle kolovav to a decision, especially at home,,,,,

I thought cleverly could beat old hopkins, just on work rate alone......

Problem with people saying someone is unlikely to hit an opponent is, there are 12 rounds. Even Rigo and Mayweather get hit flush. The Bellew fight showed me he can definitely be outworked and jabbed, although he sued a broken rib excuse pre fight.

Is Bellew really that bad of a fighter?

I see a lot of people in NSB getting on Cleverly for barely beating Bellew, but if I'm not mistaken, if it weren't for Cleverly, Bellew would still be undefeated
